COVID-19 IN CAL
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected every conceivable thing in our day to day life, and the music industry is not immune to it. This is why, it will exist within our game of Create A Label.
The game will mirror how COVID-19 is unravelling in real life. While the US is still averaging more than 100,000 cases of COVID-19 a day, the music industry continues to go on.
All promotional slots remain open but with limitations. Live audiences are severely reduced (to just staff) or there are none in general. Video calling and pre-recorded performances are more common than ever. Every promotional slot offers (and even encourages) for artists to video call their interviews in, and send in a recorded performance filmed professionally in a studio. Here are examples of an interview by video call and a recorded performance shot in a studio:
Tours are absolutely on hold, with officials estimating they will not return until mid-2022.
Your artists are expected to follow social distancing rules, and set a responsible example to their millions of fans all around the world who are all coping with this devastating pandemic.
• Promotional slots offering video called interviews & recorded performances allows for daily country-hopping promotional schedules to be allowed (i.e. it is now possible for your artist to perform for a British TV show on Monday, and be interviewed by a Korean talk show host on Tuesday, while remaining in New York the entire time, due to recorded performances and interviews by video call).
